Swarn lived and worked in Calcutta for 20 years and in
Bombay for 17 years before they moved to Chandigarh in
late 1990s where Swarn returned after 45 years. Travels
Swarn has been globetrotting since early 1970's as he
was associated from then onwards with international
business. This created an interest in the study of Sikh
Immigrants abroad. So, a hobby has developed, expensive
one, but very rewarding and exciting. Swarn is now an
Independent Researcher of Sikh Diaspora with focus on
non-English speaking countries. His job with ICI
involved stints as Export Manager which involved travel
overseas. He is on his 24th passport and has so far
visited 80. Post retirement, he started travelling to
study Sikh Migration to non- English-speaking countries
about which there was only limited information available
and thereby completing the global Sikh migration map. He
has written 3 books on the subject: SIKHS IN LATIN
AMERICA (8 Countries), SIKHS IN ASIA PACIFIC
(11countries), SIKHS IN CONTINENTAL EUROPE (17 countries).
Health permitting (87 yrs age), Swarn has two projects
covering 'Sikhs in West & Central Asia and Africa' and
'Sikhs in India outside Punjab'.
