BUSINESS VISITS

VISIT TO AUSTRALIA: With ICI, I spent 6 weeks in Australia learning about the various blasting practices in use. It was a learning trip but more importantly a fun trip especially the return trip by passenger ship via Hong Kong and Singapore. This was when I was posted in Bombay.

THE BEGINNING: The travels on business are too numerous to enumerate starting with 1971 when I was appointed as Export & Technical Services Manager of the Explosives Division at the Head Office in Calcutta. My visits for company business were to
West Asia - Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan.
South & East Asia - Philippines, Japan, HK, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, China, Indonesia, Thailand.
Aus-NZ. Australia, New Zealand.
Neighbouring countries - Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, Pakistan.
Europe - several countries Including UK, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, USSR;
N. America - USA, Canada, Mexico:
Africa - Ethiopia, Eritrea, S. Africa, Swaziland, Mauritius, Seychelles, Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe.

In several of my overseas visits, Livleen accompanied me (almost annually - one trip).
In three of my business trips, children accompanied viz to Sri Lanka, UK, USA & Canada.

TRAVELS WITH MINI & RAJ
We have undertaken some very interesting travels organised by them: Canada (Rockies) in 2013 and North East Canada in 2022 in 2022, USA road trip, China (with grandchildren), and Japan (me alone), and Alaska (with Gurtaj family joining in). In 2024, we visited Norway (with grandchildren, Gurtaj, Raj, Mini) for a 2-week trip by air, car, train covering exotic Svalbard (a free part of Norway where one can work and live without a visa), Tromso, Senja, Lofoten, Henningsvaer, Bodo, Trodenheim, Aurland, Myrdal, Flam, Oslo.
